Division of Algebraic Terms

A mathematical operation of dividing an algebraic term by another algebraic term is called the division of algebraic terms.

There are two types of algebraic terms basically in algebra. However, the mathematical procedure of dividing an algebraic term by another term is same but they is a lot of difference in the quotients of them.

It is mainly due to the literal factors of them. So, the knowledge about the literal factor of an algebraic term is the essential requirement to understand the division of algebraic terms.

Division of Like Terms

The like algebraic terms contain same literal factors. So, the division of any two like algebraic terms is equal to the quotient of the numerical factors of the same terms.

Division of Unlike Terms

The unlike algebraic terms contain different literal factors. Hence, the division of any two unlike algebraic terms is also an algebraic term.
